So after reading my review of Mylot, you finally decided to join.
After a few months you are earning good money and start telling all your
friends about Mylot. Of course you want to earn a percentage of their
earnings so you give them your Mylot referral id and wait anxiously for
them to join this wonderful community. You spot your friends in the
forum and they are just discussing like crazy. Oh boy, the money you are
going to make now! You check the Earnings link only to find out you
don't even have any referrals. What the heck is going on? This has to be
some kind of glitch or maybe a delay. Someone had to make a mistake
because you saw all of your friends online right? Now you are furious.
You
get on the phone immediately and ask each one of them what happened.
The first friend stated your referral id back to you and it was wrong,
dead wrong. She made a mistake in spelling your name. Go figure. After
all those years of being friends, she doesn't know how to spell your
name? Ok so you call the next friend and she has the same story. Get the
picture now? No need to continue this story. Bottom line, you referred
five friends to Mylot and you will not get one single penny for any of
them since they are already members. What a waste and such a shame. All
that money down the drain.
This story is just one scenario,
there could be more. Anyway you get the point. If you had a banner, all
your friends had to do was click on it and be taken directly to the
Mylot sign up page and instantly you get the credit. Banners make it
easy for others to join. They come in many sizes and can be put just
about anywhere. Put them on your blog, website, email signature and most
importantly on your Mylot profile page. This article will teach you how
to make a simple Mylot banner using pre-made templates. In time and
with practice, you may even want to design your very own banner.
1. PICK A BANNER YOU LIKE
First
you need to find a banner you like. Mylot has a page full of banners
that were made especially for members to use. Click on this link to review all the banners. Once you find a banner, right click on the banner you like to save the image to your computer.
You will then need to upload the banner from your computer to an image storing website. Photobucket is a great site to use, they are free and give you tons of storage space. They also have lots of fun tools like slideshows, scrapbooks and other ways to showcase your creativity. Click on this link to sign up for Photobucket.

2. QUICK LESSON ON HTML CODES
Next
locate your banner on Photobucket and click INSIDE the box next to the
words "html code". A yellow message that says "copied" will pop up.
Paste the html code where you would like your banner to appear. There
will be two sets of html codes, one for the website location and one for
the image location. The image location code will always be listed
second. Another clue is the code will always end with the letters "gif"
which is the file extension used for images. Never ever change anything
in the image html code or your banner will not load properly.
3. MAKE SURE YOUR REFERRAL ID IS CORRECT
The last step is the best part. You need to type your Mylot referral link after the http: and erase the rest of the code up to the last set of quotes. Make sure you type the correct referral id so you can get the proper credit. Remember the friends fiasco above? Check out the screenshot below so you can see exactly how the html code looks. Good luck with your banner.
